Wet Paint
A little round-bellied pot with a flared collar, glazed like it left the studio mid-job: two ribbons — one cornflower blue, one spearmint green — poured from the rim and stopped partway down the vanilla walls, the blue one skipping a beat near the foot where it lifted clean off the clay. The collar pools bright sky-blue, brushed through with sand. It has been fully fired, entirely finished, and bone dry for months. It simply refuses to look it.
