The Shallows
Denim-blue water brushed thin over warm sand, with the seabed showing through wherever the tide wears the colour away. Near one edge a darker blue eddy loops back on itself, a current changing its mind mid-swim. The outside walls carry the tide-marks — blue stains sinking into sandy clay. Wade in; it never gets deeper than a daydream.
