Hug Mug

The potter's name for this one was already perfect, so it stays. Round-bellied and rimless of corners, built to be held with both hands: milk-foam white pours over the rim and fills the entire inside, settles into a crema band of toffee, then goes espresso-dark to the foot, where a ring of warm terracotta peeks out like socks. A flat white you can never finish, and a hug you can put on a shelf.
